Summit Media Broadcasting, LLC acquired WDBS-FM and WSGB-AM in January 2000 and
totally rebuilt these radio stations from the ground up. Summit upgraded WDBS-FM to 50,000 watts with a totally new
transmitting facility in December 2001. [Originally 97.1 FM began broadcasting
as WCKA in 1987 with 25,000 watts]. WDBS-FM has one of the largest radio signals in this
region of the United States. WSGB 1490 AM has also received new
equipment, including a new tower and new programming featuring the Classic Hit
Radio Format. WSGB went on the air in 1964 and is the only local AM radio
station in the Center of West Virginia. WKQV 105.5 FM Cowen, WV went on
the air on January 1, 2007 with all new facilities and tower. WKQV’s Classic Rock format is also heard on 106.9 FM in Braxton
County and recently in November 2008 is also on translator 102.9 Fayetteville /
Oak Hill, WV.
Summit Media Broadcasting, LLC is a privately held West Virginia company that was formed in 1997. Summit Media Broadcasting, LLC and its managing member N. Al Sergi, is the sole owner of Summit Media Broadcasting, LLC. WDBS-FM, WKQV-FM and WSGB-AM are licensed to Summit Media Broadcasting, LLC.
Summit Media Inc. is a
privately held West Virginia company that was formed in 2007. Summit Media, Inc
is owned and operated by N.
Al Sergi and Daniel W. Finch Jr.
Summit Media, Inc. owns and operates 50,000 watt WAFD 100.3 FM and WVAR
600 AM. The company was formed in early 2007 and is co-owned with Summit Media
Broadcasting, LLC. Both stations are in the process of equipment upgrades.
